TikTok has been the latest craze, and I have caught myself scrolling for hours during the quarantine. I am also guilty of attempting all the tiktok dances (which I fail at), but it’s a good way for me to stay entertained during this time period. I am also guilty of trying tiktok recipes, and here are some that are actually good and that you should try out!

  1. Whipped Coffee

I am a coffee connoisseur and have been experimenting with different lattes, iced coffees, creamers, etc during this quarantine to try and perfect the perfect cup of joe at home. Therefore, when I came across the famous TikTok of whipped coffee, I had to try it immediately.

What you do:

Combine two tablespoons of instant coffee, two tablespoons of sugar, and two tablespoons of boiling water in a mixing bowl. Then using an electric mixer, mix for about 3-4 minutes or until the liquid forms peaks. You can also use a whisker and whisk by hand, but apparently, it is a severe arm workout, so I opted for the easy method. Once you have your whipped coffee, put ice in a cup with the milk of choice (I use vanilla almond milk) and top with the whipped mixture. Stir around with a reusable straw and voila! There you have a specialty coffee drink that is smooth and creamy.

2. Breakfast Quesadilla

Who doesn’t love a good breakfast taco or quesadilla? Spice up your traditional scrambled eggs with this tiktok hack that has gained all the buzz and for a good reason! It reduces clean up and actually works!

What you do:

Whisk your eggs in a bowl, then pour those eggs into the pan. Let the eggs cook and then sprinkle cheese on top. The cheese acts as the glue. Then add your tortilla over the eggs. Check to see if the eggs are cooked enough to be lifted and once the eggs are cooked enough, place a plate over the pan and flip. Then place the other side back onto the pan. Add more cheese and maybe Bacon? Sausage? Salsa? Anything you want. Place another tortilla over the top and flip again. Cook the bottom until it is toasted to your liking. Slide the quesadilla off the pan, and there you have it!

3. Microwaveable chocolate chip cookie

What’s better than a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie? Honestly, not a lot. This recipe takes under 3 minutes and I was shocked at how well this turned out. If you don’t have enough ingredients to bake a dozen cookies or maybe you just have a sudden craving for a chocolate chip cookie, make this and it will definitely satisfy!

What you do:

Combine in a bowl:

2 tablespoons of melted butter

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of white sugar

ÂĽ teaspoon of baking powder

â…› tablespoon of salt

¼ teaspoon of vanilla

Mix these ingredients, then add 3 tablespoons of flour and mix, then add 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips. Put your dough in a microwaveable safe dish and cook for 60 seconds! Serve with some chocolate drizzle over the top or with some vanilla ice cream – so easy and delicious!
