Looking to make some extra money this semester or pump up your résumé? Check out these websites created for college students (like you!) to search for all kinds of jobs!
Collegehelpers.com
Personally, I love this site. This is where I found my babysitting job sophomore year. You have to create an account, but it’s free. They have lists of jobs aimed at college students in various markets from babysitting, to office work, and retail all within a couple of miles of campus.
BC Dining
What’s better than working right where you live? You don’t have to worry about how you’re going to get to work anymore. Student job openings include Line servers, Grill Attendants, and Student Managers. Go to the BC dining site to learn how you can contact a manager.
Go to Lectures at BC
I found my fall internship by attending a lecture held by Women in Business on campus. There are always things going on at BC – just take a look at all of the flyers on the stairways of Mac and O’Neill. If you go to a lecture and find the talk particularly interesting or about something you’d like to get involved in, go up and talk to the speaker after and ask for their card. Employees like when people take the initiative and you’ll impress them right from the start.
Walk In and Apply
Many stores and restaurants are looking for employees this time of year. If you see a help wanted sign in the window, then go in and fill out an application. It will only take a few minutes of your time and it could be well worth it. You can also go in even if you don’t see a help wanted sign and ask if they are hiring… you never know.
