One of my favorite things about college is the fact that so many of my friends live in such close proximity to me. From my best friend, who is my direct roommate, to my friends living on CoRo none of my friends live more than 15 minutes away. Even though the troop from Lower to CoRo can feel like the biggest commute, it definitely doesn’t compare to growing up in New York City and having your closest friends living almost an hour away. That being said, I think there comes a point in the year and in your friendships that one of your friends becomes your unofficial third roommate. Here are the signs:
They enter your room like they own the place.
But your other roommates are used to having your hovering extra roommate around so they might greet her like this:
They automatically make themselves at home so they’re usually already there when you’re in crisis.
And they never want to walk home alone.
So they’ve slept over on your couch more than once.
I realized that one of my best friends had become our extra roommate after seeing that she fit all of these signs. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
