If you’ve been feeling like you absolutely cannot wait for spring break, know that you’re not the only one. There’s something about this new semester that makes it feel unbearably long and more stressful than usual. Two weeks in, and most of us were already swamped with work and since then, it hasn’t slowed down one bit. It has left us pretty exhausted and there is no way around it because it seems as if after every big assignment, another one comes up. This one is for all of us who have been feeling pretty overwhelmed and burned out this early in the semester.Â
Sometimes, you have to just admit that its been a tad rough… I absolutely cannot stand doing this because I feel like I always have the most work when the people around me don’t have much going on and vice versa. As weird as it seems, there’s something about telling yourself that you need a moment that will make you feel a tad better (self soothing to the max).Â
Let yourself relax. I think that having so much happen at once (we all have those weeks) makes us want to go on overdrive. Sometimes, I find myself getting a little anxious over not having work after having an exceptionally hard week (I feel guilty for having down time!). I found that its really important to have some time to let yourself rest (or catch up on rest from doing so much) instead of letting yourself go stir crazy.Â
Talk about it. I know it sounds really corny but it really does help. Even if you have to be that annoying friend/roommate for 3 minutes, try to have a chat with someone about why you’re feeling overwhelmed. Hopefully they can help you talk off some of the stress or they can help you laugh it off a little. It never hurts to talk to someone (even if its about something petty but admit it: I’m the pettiest when I’m feeling overwhelmed).Â

We are almost at the home stretch!!!
