BC Elevators in Review

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Elevators are nice. It doesn’t matter why you need or want to use one, just go ahead and do it.  I won’t judge you for taking an elevator, I promise. Below is my completely unofficial, totally non-definitive guide to BC Elevators, from worst to best.

Disclaimer:  Being a freshman, I haven’t actually been to many buildings. Higgins? No idea. Devlin? Nope. Any dorm besides my own? Not really. I am not an expert on elevators, but trust me anyway?

Mac: Did you know that there’s an elevator in Mac? There is! It’s sketchy.

Speed: 1 / 10

Utility: 1 / 10

Style: 0 / 10

Total Score: 2 / 30

Campion: Wait, there’s an elevator in Campion? Yep, and it’s just as useful as Gasson’s.

Campion’s elevator goes down and down and to the right.

Speed: 2 / 10

Utility: 3 / 10

Style: 2 / 10

Total Score: 7 / 30

Dorms in Upper: Eh… Sort of marginal.

Speed: 3 / 10

Utility: 3 / 10

Style: 5 / 10

Total Score: 11 / 30

Fulton: Useful only if you are going from floor one to five.

Speed: 3 / 10

Utility: 6 / 10

Style: 3 / 10

Total Score: 12 / 30

Maloney: I know, I know.

Speed: 4 / 10

Utility: 9 / 10

Style: 1 / 10

Total Score: 14 / 30

Gasson: If you have a long “commute” to class, it’s perfectly understandable why you’d take the elevator over the (otherwise bearable) stairs in this building.

Speed: 5 / 10

Utility: 6 / 10

Style: 5 / 10

Total Score: 16 / 30

McGuinn: Useful, nice, classy.

Speed: 6 / 10

Utility: 5 / 10

Style: 6 / 10

Total Score: 17 / 30

Stayer: I have Her Campus meetings here! Seriously speedy.

Speed: 10 / 10

Utility: 6 / 10

Style: 6 / 10

Total Score: 22 / 30

Stokes Elevators: Oh gosh, how I love these. They are efficient and clean, which is good.

Speed: 8 / 10

Utility: 8 / 10

Style: 10 / 10

Total Score: 26 / 30
