As a college student, I have an unbelievable love affair with brunch. On weekend mornings, I crave omelets, eggs benedict, pancakes, crepes, mimosas, Bloody Mary’s… the list goes on and on! On an empty stomach and with even bigger expectations, I’ve compiled my list of the best brunches in Boston around BC for any wallet or food preference!
1) Lulu’s
Lulu’s in Allston, simply put, does brunch best. With a menu complete with a mimosa bucket for four, cinnamon roll mini waffles, ranch tater tots, and even shortrib mac and cheese, Lulu’s is the perfect place to find whatever you are craving on a weekend morning! Highly suggested: the pancakes with bloody marry butter.Â
2) Stephanie’s on Newbury
For those looking for a weekend trip to Newbury Street, Stephanie’s is a perfect choice to fuel up for a long day of shopping. Their menu features everything from crab cake benedict to cinnamon monkey bread. Stephanie’s is the perfect combination of sophisticated, comfort food and its outdoor seating option is great for people watching on a weekend morning.
3) Tresca’s
A personal favorite of my roommate and I, Tresca’s Eating Place is the best hidden breakfast joint around BC. Located in Watertown, it’s inexpensive, the food is delicious, and the service is quick and great! The portion sizes are very generous and with their low prices, it is hard to beat Tresca’s. I highly recommend any of their pancake options!
4) Deluxe Station Diner
Deluxe Station Diner, located right in Newton Center, has been a staple of the greater Newton area for years. The restaurant is located inside of a renovated, historic train station and serves up great brunch for those in the area! Their menu features the classic brunch go-to’s, but also some unique dishes such as sweet potato pancakes, an egg and salmon sandwich, and hash benedict. Definitely a great place to go if you’re looking for somewhere quick and delicious right near BC!
5) In A Pickle
In a Pickle is known around Waltham as the #1 place for breakfast and lunch, and I couldn’t agree more! I could talk all day about their pancake specials– everything from chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes to Reese’s pancakes. They also have delicious nutella stuffed french toast, blueberry cream cheese stuffed french toast (featured below!), and several breakfast sandwiches and burritos that are highly recommended. Take a small trip to In a Pickle for your best breakfast experience in Waltham.
6) The Cottage
The Cottage is one of my favorite places to go to for brunch (especially when my parents are in town!). Located in Chestnut Hill, the Cottage serves up the best omelettes, pancakes, and breakfast sandwiches. With its Nantucket vibe decor and beautiful outdoor seating, the Cottage is one of Chestnut Hill’s best kept secrets. Try their cottage oatmeal pancakes!
7) Athan’s
Athan’s, located in Brighton and Brookline, is an awesome European bakery complete with an authentic cafe and bakery that is perfect for a Sunday morning. Their make-your-own omelettes, large coffees, and delicious pastries make for a perfect breakfast experience. With free Wifi and big tables for getting some work done, Athan’s may become your new favorite weekend spot!
8) Tremont 647
For those willing to travel to the South End, Tremont 647 is a renowned restaurant for all of your brunch cravings! Their menu features everything from poutine fries to cinnamon roll pancakes to buttermilk fried chicken! They also have an extensive list of brunch cocktails which make the perfect addition to any brunch meal. Take a trip to the South End and try Tremont 647!
9) Max Brenner
For those unaware, Max Brenner is a restaurant mainly dedicated to chocolate (!!!). Simply put, this place is absolutely amazing. Their brunch choices include illegal chocolate chocolate chocolate pancakes, ‘hang-over’ omelettes, crepes, and  classic Bloody Mary and mimosas. I definitely suggest Max Brenner if you are headed to the Back Bay area!
10) Bee’s Knees in Allston
Bee’s Knees in Allston isn’t exactly a brunch location, but its breakfast options are too good not to mention! Located in Allston, this trendy deli and food shop is a great place to visit and work at. Bee’s Knees has a great selection of smoothies at its juice bar and specialty coffees. They also have delicious breakfast foods such as omelettes and bacon and egg sandwiches! Definitely give their nitro cold brew coffee a taste!
