Best Vacation Spot for Young or Old: Disney

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

If you asked me how many times I’ve been to Walt Disney World, I would have to count on my fingers and toes and my fingers again. I have honestly lost count of the number of times I have been to Disney. When I was little, my family and I would go at least once a year, then as my brother and I got older we stopped going so frequently but thankfully we started going regularly again.

If you go regularly, you pretty much have everything down to a science, which rides to hit first, which to get a fast pass for, what time you need to get to the park, etc.  At some point though I realized that Disney wasn’t exactly the “happiest place on Earth.” Why? Every little kid I have ever met LOVES Disney, and I was no exception. But as I got older, I started to realize that Disney is expensive and most of the time you find yourself planning everything out minute by minute.

To me, this no longer seems like a vacation I wanted to take. Disney began to stress me out more and more each time I went, but that’s not to say I won’t be going back. In fact, I’m going twice this year. So now you are probably wondering why after all I just complained about of the place I would want to go back again and again.

Well here’s the thing: Disney does have this magical feel. You see the smile painted across children’s faces as they walk down Main Street towards Cinderella’s Castle for the very first time. Even as you get older, and you have made the same walk before, you can’t help but smile yourself. When you see the characters dressed up, it always brings you happiness because that was a part of your childhood. Sure, the lines for the rides can be a drag, but you always know that no matter which ride it is, whether it’s A Small World or Rockin’ Rollercoaster, you will be smiling ear to ear when you get off.

So whether you have been to Disney multiple times before, once before, or never, I suggest you find a group and head down with them. Disney is a place that makes the best memories that will last you a lifetime.
