It’s that time of year again! Time to put away your shorts and sundresses, and bring out the pants and scarves! I think that layering is key during these cold months of the year. Not only is layering fashionable and fun, but it is also extremely effective in keeping you warm and cozy. Below, I have listed a few of my closet staples and essentials. These items ensure that I am fully prepared to tackle the chilly weather ahead of me!

Tops

1. Plain White T-shirt

This shirt is definitely an OG item in my closet. A plain white t-shirt can be paired with almost any outfit.

2. Striped T-shirt

A striped t-shirt is a nice spin on the plain white t-shirt. I like having a striped shirt handy in case I ever want a little texture with my outfit.

3. Turtleneck Sweater

A turtleneck sweater is perfect for windy days because it protects your neck from the cold wind. Plus, they are extra cozy!

4. Crew Neck Sweater

A crew neck sweater is nice to have for layering purposes. Some days, it is too cold to wear your t-shirt under your jacket. Swap out your t-shirt for a warm sweater on those days.

5. Flannel Shirt

Everyone loves a good flannel! Flannels look cute buttoned up or unbuttoned with a shirt underneath them.

Jackets

1. Utility Jacket

I LOVE utility jackets! These are so perfect for fall weather! I love wearing my utility jacket when I go pumpkin or apple picking.

2. Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is perfect for layering! Personally, I like denim jackets with some sort of lining to provide me with extra warmth!

3. Leather Jacket

Leather jackets are awesome for this time of the year. What I love about denim jackets is that you can wear them during the day to class or work, and also rock them at night when you go out with friends!

4. Cardigan

Who doesn’t love a nice oversized cardigan? Cardigans are super cozy and cute!

5. Poncho

Ponchos are adorable during this time of the year! They are super easy to throw on if you are ever in a rush, too!

6. Vest

Vests are perfect for layering! They give you that extra little bit of warmth you might need on a slightly chillier day!

Shoes

1. Black Booties

Black booties match with almost every outfit, and are super easy to slide on! These are my favorite shoes to wear in the fall and winter.

2. Brown Riding Boots

Riding boots are super adorable with your favorite pair of skinny jeans. What I love about riding boots is that you can dress them up or down!

3. Duck Boots

With cold weather also comes more rain and snow! This means mud and water! Duck boots are the perfect shoe to wear on those dreary days because they are typically waterproof and easy to clean!

Accessories

1. Plaid Blanket Scarf

I love oversized blanket scarves. Not only are these super stylish, but they also keep you super warm.

2. Beanie

Beanies are adorable, and keep your ears warm!

3. Boot Socks

Boot socks are so comfortable. Not only are they great for wearing with boots, but also for snuggling up in bed after a long day.

4. Floppy Hat

I just think that floppy hats are so cute and fun! A floppy hat is a perfect way to pull your entire outfit together!
