Dorm Friendly Holiday Recipes!

With the beginning of the holiday season, Christmas music and lights fill every room with holiday cheer. But a roommate movie marathon or a Secret Santa exchange is not complete without some holiday themed snacks. If you don’t have a kitchen is difficult, but not impossible! Here are a few holiday treats that you can make right in your dorm room. These recipes are also a great excuse to treat yourself to a seasonal mug.

 

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

  • Microwave a mug of water for about a minute, then stir in normal hot chocolate mix. Put it back in the microwave for another minute to a minute and a half. Stir with a candy cane and enjoy!

Pumpkin Pie Mug Cake

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp granulated white sugar

  • 2 tbsp fat-free milk

  • 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree

  • ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice

Whisk all ingredients together until smooth. Heat in the microwave for a little over a minute. *Can add chocolate chips if desired.*

 

Cinnamon French Toast

Ingredients:

  • Cinnamon swirl bread

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbsp milk

  • ground cinnamon

Cut the bread into cubes and place into a mug or bowl. Whisk egg, milk, and cinnamon together and pour over bread. Microwave for a minute, then continue to add 15 seconds until it is cooked.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 2t tbsp sugar

  • 3 Drops of Vanilla Extract

  • Small Pinch of Salt

  • 1 Egg Yolk

  • just under ÂĽ of All Purpose Flour

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

Melt the butter, and combine with sugar, vanilla, and salt. Whisk in the egg yolk, and then the flour. Combine with chocolate chips and microwave for about 45 seconds.

Bake away some of your finals-induced stress with some of these delicious treats!
