HCBC Cribs: Michelle

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Twas the day of move in, and all through the halls,

My 8 man helped unpack, they’re really such dolls,

The Keurig was hidden in the cabinets with care,

In hopes that room checks wouldn’t look there.

The roomies were all there on the common room couch,

with visions of Netflix marathons, we were going to slouch.

Just when we started getting those homesickness blues,

we could look out the window to see those Gasson views.

Our bedrooms were made up oh so very nice,

not even Pinterest could give us advice.

With pictures and canvases hung up galore,

no one had seen such a sight before.

8 girls were showered and all squeaky clean,

the entire room just looked so pristine.

With big t-shirts and dreams, that lie ahead,

Walsh 503 finally headed to bed.

Hey y’all!! Welcome to my room!

I love hanging a lot of pictures to make the walls feel more lively. I’ve also hung some flags for my sports teams and made a monogram for the wall. My bedding has a cute pattern that is toned down by the furry throw blanket and the pillows (one can never have too many pillows).

The only way you know you’re in my room is to spot the Maryland flag. I also hung a bunch of command strips to hold a makeup bag, purse, and my stethoscope.

My roommate and I have a rug which adds a nice homey touch. We also have a shelf that we use as a night stand. I love how it looks and makes the room look less dorm-y. We have cute lamps and pictures. Because we wanted to save space, we raised our beds to fit our dressers under it. If you’re short like me, it’s not easy to hop onto a fully raised bed. We have storage ottomans to use as a stool.

Closet space can be limited around here. I have two collapsible cube storage bins on the left side to hold my makeup and a container full of extra toiletries. I also opted to use my Lilly Pulitzer storage bin to keep all my shoes in one place. At the top, I have 3 cube storage bins for more stuff that I don’t use as often which is very helpful.

I like to keep all my school supplies on my desk in my monogram mug. I also like to have sticky notes out. Because I don’t have space elsewhere, I keep my makeup mirror, perfume, and jewelry boxes on the desk as well.

Here’s to the start of another year!
