St. Patrick’s Day is a wonderful beer and whiskey filled holiday where everyone (Irish or not) can celebrate donning their best green apparel. Every year, on March 17th tons of Bostonians flock to the city to show off their Irish heritage. With shamrocks and leprechauns as far as the eye can see, this holiday is one of the best to spend in Boston. As this fun-filled date quickly approaches, here are some of our tips to plan the perfect St. Paddy’s day in Beantown.

Plan out the Perfect Outfit

Grab all of the green clothes that you own, throw on your favorite pair of shamrock socks and top it off with all of the accessories that you can get your hands on. This holiday is not one to dress casually for. The streets of Boston will be filled with people showing off their Irish pride dressed in green clothes head to toe so be sure to do the same!

Head to South Boston for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Beginning at 1 PM at the Broadway t stop and heading all the way to Andrew Square in Southie, this parade is an essential element for the perfect St. Paddy’s day in Boston. This parade has drawn crowds of up to one million in years past so be sure to grab a spot early to enjoy the day.

Sign up for a Pub Crawl

There are loads of pub crawls going on this weekend so sign up for one of your choosing. Enjoy some Guinness and Jameson with your friends as you make your way through the various bars in Boston.

Enjoy a Full Irish Breakfast

Head to an Irish pub in Boston like J.J. Foley’s to enjoy a full Irish breakfast and start your day with a full belly. With soda bread and corned beef galore, you will be full to the brim after getting your yearly dose of traditional Irish grub.

Build the Perfect Irish Playlist

No day is complete without an awesome selection of music. Build an “Irish” playlist by collecting some tunes from your favorite Irish bands, like U2, and complementing them with some traditional Irish songs like “The Wild Rover” and you will surely be dancing all day long.
