Jelly Beans and Peeps and Chocolate Bunnies, Oh My!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Everyone knows that one of the best parts of Easter is hands down, the candy. No matter what store you walk into in the weeks leading up to this holiday, it seems like there are five hundred varieties of chocolates, marshmallows, gummies, jelly beans, etc. staring back at you. How could anyone resist? (says the person currently munching on some Starburst jelly beans, for research purposes only obviously) I decided to ask around BC to see what the top five favorite Easter candies are, and here is the list:

1. Peeps: Even though giant marshmallows shaped like chicks, and rolled in neon sugar doesn’t sound that appealing, something about Peeps just screams Easter. I don’t think that anyone necessarily loves the taste of Peeps, but it’s practically a requirement to eat at least one during every Easter season.

2. Cadbury Crème Eggs: Chocolate Crème eggs seem to be a staple in every Easter basket, and with good reason. Who doesn’t love the chocolatey, creamy filled goodness of a Cadbury Easter Egg? They should come with a warning label: highly addictive

3. Reese’s Eggs—aka Reester Eggs: This is basically a giant Reese’s but in the shape of an egg or a bunny, what could be better? When I asked all of my friends what their favorite Easter candy was, this was by far the number one response. Something about a regular candy being turned into a giant bunny or egg just seems to yield perfection.

4. Nerd’s Jelly Beans: These are by far the most underrated Easter candy ever, but if you see them at the store, buy them immediately (but seriously). If you like Nerds, you will love these! They are so good and blow regular jelly beans out of the water.

5. Chocolate Bunnies; And of course, last but not least, chocolate bunnies. In my house, no Easter is complete without a giant chocolate bunny in the Easter baskets. What’s Easter without a ten pound block of chocolate to eat as soon as you wake up in the morning?
