Meet Cutie Chris Minett! This junior loves hiking, thrift shopping, and CSOM-ing. He’s hilariously funny (check out his Twitter next time you need a laugh) and probably the sweetest person you’ll meet on campus. Read on to get to know Chris!
The Basics
Name: Chris Minett
Hometown: Warwick, RI
School/Year: CSOM 2016
Major: Finance and Accounting
BC Life
Activities/Clubs: BC Marching Band, Pep Band, Symphonic Band, Investment Club, Finance Academy, and Accounting Academy
Best class: Basic Finance with Rush. I learned the material thoroughly, and Rush is a great professor to get to know!
Worst class: Chemistry in Society. It was easy enough, but I just don’t enjoy chemistry.
Bapst or O’Neill: Bapst! You can feel the pressure to perform.
Favorite place to eat on campus: The Rat
Biggest pet peeve: The existence of glitter. It is useless, annoying, and dangerous if it gets near your eyes. Truly the herpes of art supplies.
One thing you’re most excited about for senior year: Electives. I can’t wait to explore something completely unrelated to my majors.
Most embarrassing moment: This is a tough one; I’m always subtly embarrassing myself. One that really sticks out is from a couple summers ago. I was at a family friend’s lake house in Maine, and had to hop off the boat onto the dock to get the rope and tie the boat down. I’ve done it so many times, I just stepped off without looking and fell straight into the water and the boat crashed into the dock. Thankfully I kind of flopped onto the dock rather than all the way in the water, but both my chest and ego were bruised (this was after informing my brother that “you’ll never slip off the deck with Sperrys on.”) Now every time I get off a boat, someone has to bring it up.
Fun fact: I’m an Eagle Scout, so I love the outdoors! I’ll take any opportunity to get into the wilderness.
Favorite movie: American Psycho
Favorite TV show: House of Cards
Celeb crush: Emma Watson
Dream job: Investment Banker
Favorite BC sport: Hockey; hopefully they straighten up before the Beanpot though.
Favorite hangout spot on campus: The Fulton Atrium
Relationship status: Single
Ideal girl: Someone adventurous, compassionate, and easygoing who will appreciate my often odd humor. Hopefully they like long walks and even longer conversations too!
Ideal date: This one’s pretty typical, an early dinner in the North End followed by a long walk through downtown and around the Common. It’s a classic for a reason.
Deal breakers: I can’t deal with people too petty or uptight, anyone who should cool their jets.
Advice to freshmen: Get to know upperclassmen in your major, most of us love to give advice and help out as much as possible. Meeting over lunch can make a world of difference!
So single ladies, keep your fingers crossed and maybe you’ll bump into Chris on campus!
