He was nervous for the campus cutie interview, which just makes us love him even more. He’s cute, smart, and funny. Whether you see him in Conte next to the ice rink or walking around Lower, you should definitely stop to talk to sophomore hockey manager, Tom Maguire!

The BC Experience
How is your BC experience going so far?
Just what I thought. I grew up coming to a lot of sporting events. I went to BC High so me and my family used to come here. Everything is so familiar.
What is your favorite thing about BC?
Getting to know people. There are still a lot of people I haven’t met yet because there are so many. But I still have two more years to do that.
What activities are you involved in?
I work closely with the hockey team as a manager. I am at practice every day, keeping stats, and helping out with whatever the players need.
Do you enjoy being a hockey manager?
I do. I never played hockey growing up, but I liked to watch and go to games. But being a manager is different than what I thought.
How so?
All the traveling and being national champions and behind-the-scenes stuff. Some people would kill for that.
What is it like in the locker room?
Everyone is always pumped and ready to play. Some players have superstitions before games. I always wear my Livestrong bracelet and watch on game day. But my watch broke halfway through the season, so I still have to get a new one.
What did you do over spring break?
I was here for hockey. We had practice to prep for our games. There were two against UNH. But, we captured the regular Hockey East season title! That was great, but it is not fun being on campus when no one is here. It is dead and kind of boring.
Interests
What is your favorite place to eat on campus?
Addie’s. I get the tomato mozzarella pizza.
What is your most embarrassing moment here at BC?
One weekend, it was raining, and I was walking past Ruby with some friends. Next to Ruby, I saw these huge white bags stacked in a pile. I was really excited and shouted, “Oh my God, free pillows!” (Hahaha) My roommates then told me that they were not pillows… but bags of sand.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Senior year, my friends and I after graduation decided to go to Bonnaroo in Tennessee. We spontaneously decided a week before and threw everything together. We luckily found tickets. It was a 16-hour drive, and when we got there, there were so many people. You didn’t need a hotel, you just parked your car and pitched a tent for four days and went into the gates to see the various concerts. My favorite performance there was either Bruce Springsteen or the surprise performance by Jimmy Buffet.
What is your favorite band?
Probably Kings of Leon. I like a lot of bands you probably haven’t heard of, like Noah and the Whale.
Who is your celebrity crush?
I’d have to say Rachel McAdams.
What is your favorite TV show?
Modern Family
Girls
What is your ideal BC girl?
My ideal BC girl. Umm let’s see… first of all fun. A girl who likes to go out and do things. Someone who is involved in something too, you want a girl who has friends in case you want to do your own thing one night.
Do you have any pet peeves?
I don’t hate a lot. I’m pretty patient kid. Slurping and chewing loudly is one, I guess. Oh, and people who talk on phones really, really loudly as if they want other people to hear what’s going on, that is annoying.
Are you single?
I am single.
Hookup or relationship kind of guy?
I mean, either one (laughs). Obviously long term, I want the relationship. But short term, fair game!
What is the perfect date?
Oh, dinner and a sporting event. Like a Bruins or Red Sox game.
What should girls know about you?
I’m not really much of a self-promoter. I’m fun to be around and have a good personality!
