A Night with Iron & Wine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

My obsession with Iron & Wine began six years ago, when I first heard “Love and Some Verses” (which remains one of my favorite songs to this day). Since then, Iron & Wine has released three new albums—Around the Well, Kiss Each Other Clean, and, most recently, Ghost on Ghost—and my love for Sam Beam’s flawless voice and beautiful lyrics has grown. Despite my long time love for Iron & Wine, however, I’ve never been able to go to a concert; when I’m in Boston, he’s in Atlanta, and when I’m in Atlanta, he’s in Boston. Needless to say, I was THRILLED to hear that Iron & Wine would be at BC this Friday, and to help everyone get ready for what will surely be an amazing concert, here are ten of my favorite Iron & Wine songs that everyone should know before going!

“Caught in the Briars”

“Swans And The Swimming”

“Love And Some Verses”

“Kingdom Of The Animals”

“Waitin’ For A Superman”

While this is actually a cover of a Flaming Lips song, it’s still one of my favorites on the Around the Well album.

“Belated Promise Ring”

“Naked As We Came”

“Sodom, South Georgia”

Featuring his sister, Sarah Beam, as backup vocalist!

“Tree By The River”

“Sixteen, Maybe Less”
