Hockey season has finally arrived!!! The men’s and women’s teams have started their seasons here at Boston College and I couldn’t be more excited. In my opinion, hockey games are the most exciting sporting events to attend on campus. Here are some of the reasons why you should be excited for hockey season, too:
1. The Entertainment Factor
Hockey games are so fast-paced that they will keep your attention for the entire 60 minutes of play. You’ll be mesmerized by the game and leave feeling satisfied.
2. The Rivalries
The Boston College/Boston University rivalry is one of the most heated rivalries in college athletics. Facing off against rivals like BU and Notre Dame makes the games even more exciting for fans. You’ll feel such immense pride for our Eagles.
3. The Beanpot
The start of hockey season means that the Beanpot is approaching. This awesome hockey tournament that includes Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern is always such a fun experience. It’s a can’t-miss event. You’ll travel to the TD Garden with hundreds of your peers and cheer on your team until you lose your voice.
4. The Superfan Chants
During hockey games, BC students go all out. Superfans have all sorts of chants that keep people focused on the game and keep the level of school spirit high. You’ll experience such a sense of community.
5. The Suspense
There’s nothing more exciting than watching your team score on a power play or defend the goal at a disadvantage. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, counting down the remaining seconds of every power play.
6. The Hockey Boys
Come on… who doesn’t love a boy on skates?
7. The Fun
Some of my greatest BC memories have taken place in Conte Forum at the hockey games with my best friends. You don’t want to miss out on all of the fun that awaits you at BC hockey games.
