Relax, Recharge, Rejuvenate: Try MiniLuxe in Newton!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

You’ve had a very busy few weeks. You’ve successfully completed the first six weeks of school. You’ve had kick-off meetings, internship application deadlines, networking events, football games, tailgates, Parents Weekend… not to mention five classes to worry about. Maybe you’ve even managed to make it to the Plex a few times (or every single day) this semester. It has been a very busy semester so far and we deserve to relax every now and then. With such limited time on our hands, we want to maximize the little free time we have and spend it on something enjoyable. Whether you have an event coming up, an interview, or a presentation, sometimes it can be nice to get your nails done and get a little pampered beforehand. If you’re looking for a break from campus, a fun afternoon with friends, or an excuse to read the latest magazines to forget about all the work you have to do, look no further than MiniLuxe in Newton Center. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a manicure or pedicure, this is the place for you! Located right in Newton Center on Beacon Street, you can create the perfect escape, just minutes from campus!

Last Thursday, I was feeling the need to get off campus. In just a few days, I had handed in two papers, submitted a project proposal, and taken my first big exam of the semester. I was exhausted. I called MiniLuxe in Newton to ask if they had any availability in the next hour or so. Sure enough, the friendly receptionist was accommodating and fit me into the schedule. I took an Uber right from campus to get to the salon, which only took minutes. Once I got there, I was greeted by friendly staff and offered fresh tea, coffee, and water. I picked out the latest issues of People Magazine and Cosmopolitan and then found the perfect fall color. I settled on a maroon red and relaxed for my nail services. I was offered more tea throughout the awesome services. I was able to catch up on the latest celebrity news by reading an ACTUAL magazine. I’m so used to getting all of my news online, so it was great to get to flip through a magazine for once. After my nail services were finished, I walked out of MiniLuxe refreshed, confident, and excited to enjoy the weekend and take on the busy week ahead.

As busy as we are, sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. We join way too many clubs and activities and forget to give ourselves a break. We can get so wrapped up in meetings, events, and deadlines that we forget to thank ourselves for all of our hard work. Recently, I’ve really been noticing the positive impacts of rewarding myself for giving 110% of my effort into my schoolwork and activities. Rather than running myself into the ground and staying up way too late, I’ve realized that I need to take care of myself in order to be successful. By taking a break to get a manicure at MiniLuxe, I can recharge my battery and prepare for the week ahead. I love everything that I do at BC. I’ve really enjoyed my classes and my extracurriculars this semester. Finding balance is what has created a successful semester so far for me, and I hope that you will try MiniLuxe next time you’re feeling the need for a pick-me-up. After all, you deserve it! MiniLuxe is even offering us BC students $10 off a purchase of $40 or more with the code 10BC2015! Now’s the time.
