Coming back to school after a long winter break is one of the hardest transitions of the year. Here are some thoughts we all might have had coming back to the Heights:
1. Realizing that you’ll finally be reunited with your roommate and friends. A month apart really is a long time.
2. Feeling SO ready to come back…but dreading all the schoolwork and stressing over feeling unprepared for the new semester
3. Thinking about all the stories you have to share with your squad
4. Deciding that this semester will be different: you will get better grades, go out more, get a job, and be productive… oh and get fit
5. Thinking about how life would be if you were fit….wait no– WHEN you’re fit (dream big)
6. Thinking about how gross the airport is and watching all the late passengers as they run past the gate with their suitcases #TeamDuffleBag
7. Hearing someone let out a “sick cough” and immediate recoil at the thought of germs. Then realizing how gross it is to fly in a tiny cylinder full of recycled air and germs. (Is it me or is it all of this reminding you of the dreaded norovirus?!)
8. Feeling panic that you forgot something at home
9. Missing friends from home and being slightly sad that you wont see them until spring or summer…but also thinking about how you missed your school friends over break… #conflicted
10. Being very confused that there’s snow everywhere as the plane is landing
11. Walking into your building, realizing that nothing has changed, and being greeted by your roomie and friends. You finally feel ready to take on second semester together!
No matter what your experience has been with coming home to the Heights, we hope you are as ready as we are to take on the spring semester!
