This week at Her Campus BC, we are focusing our content on women to celebrate Women’s History Month. Boston College has had many notable alumni over the years that we all can strive to be like when we graduate. Here are three of the powerful women who have graduated from BC that we can all draw a little inspiration from:
Amy Poehler
Known for her hilarious roles in Parks and Recreation, Baby Mama, and Saturday Night Live, Amy Poehler’s acting career all began with her time doing improv at BC. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015 and has won several awards for her work. In addition to her successful career, she has dedicated much of her time and money to charities that support young girls and inspire them to sharpen their smarts.
Denise Morrison
Denise graduated in 1975 with a double major in economics and psychology. She served as the CEO and President for Campbell Soup Company from 2011-2018. Regularly named on the Forbes and Fortune most powerful women, she is a great role model for women interested in pursuing leadership roles in the world of business!
Molly Schaus
This 2011 Lynch School of Education alum is a goaltender for the USA Women’s Ice Hockey Team. She is a two time olympic gold medalist and finished her four-year career as Boston College’s all-time leader with 80 wins, a 1.81 goals-against-average and 3,428 saves in 134 games.
We hope that you feel as inspired by these BC grads as we do!
