Weird Celebrity Tattoos
By Kelsey Damassa

I’m kind of obsessed with magazines.  Okay, so I’m a little more than obsessed.  And while most people make fun of the fact that I always have about five magazines in my bag, I’ve found that the pages of celebrity gossip, health tips, fashion spreads, and beauty regimes can come in handy every once in awhile.  Take, for instance, trivia night at Roggie’s.  Say it’s the last question of the night and if your team gets it right you will be the trivia champs. The question? “What celebrity has a tattoo of Marilyn Monroe on her arm that she recently decided to get removed?”  While every other team starts to sweat, your team effortlessly answers the question: Megan Fox…duh!  Thanks to a complete knowledge of magazines and pop culture, your team walks out of the bar as champions.

I’m guessing you probably want to learn all about obscure celebrity tattoos now, so that you can forever win at trivia night – am I right?  Even if that’s not the case (which let’s be honest, it probably isn’t), there are some pretty weird pieces of artwork being displayed on some pretty famous people.

Ryan Gosling

This is the tattoo that surprised me the most because who would EVER think it is a good idea to tattoo their own arm?  Clearly, Gosling woke up feeling artistic one day and decided it was completely rational to go buy his own tattoo kit.  What does he have to say for his artwork?  He explains, “One of my tattoos is supposed to be a monster’s hand dropping a bloody heart, but I did it myself with a tattoo kit so it looks like a cactus.”  Lucky for Mr. Gosling, all the girls still love him despite the strange doodle on his left arm.

Angelina Jolie

Nothing should come as a surprise with actress Angelina Jolie.  I mean, she used to wear her husband’s blood in a vial around her neck.  That same husband had his own place on her left arm in the form of a black tattoo that read “Billy Bob” with a silhouette of a dragon.  However, those days are long gone and Jolie removed the devotion to her ex-husband, replacing it with geographic coordinates.  You’re probably asking yourself why.  Well, each of the seven coordinates corresponds to the birthplaces of her children…just in case she forgets where her zoo of children came from.

Harry Styles

He’s only 18 years old and already has quite the collection of ink – 24 tattoos to be exact.  Most of them just look like a babysitting job gone wrong, the naughty artwork of a three-year-old child.  Why did he feel the need to get a tattoo of a coat hanger?  Who knows.  And why would anyone ever tattoo the word “hi” in his or her armpit?  It beats me, but I guess Styles knows that he can do whatever he wants and teenage girls will still profess their undying love for him.

Stephen Baldwin

The lesser-known Baldwin might just have a soft spot for…Hannah Montana?  The actor got inked with the initials “H.M.” as a part of a pact with Miley Cyrus when they met at a White House event in 2007.  The crafty Miley Cyrus promised Baldwin a guest spot on the popular Disney sitcom if he agreed to get the tat.  Of course Baldwin agreed because all he wanted to do was make his daughter’s life.  Now that is some fatherly love.
