The 92nd Academy Awards will air on Sunday, February 9th on ABC. The Oscars will go without a host for the second year in a row. The Oscars succeeded last year by pairing presenters together to create somewhat of a riff throughout the night. So far, last year’s winners, Rami Malik, Olivia Coleman, Regina King, and Mahershala Ali, are set to present.

As for the big winners, we can expect for many Golden Globes winners to take home the Oscar.

Best Picture: 1917

For best picture, I expect 1917 to be beat out Once Upon A Time in Hollywood for best picture. (Both took home a Golden Globe, for drama and comedy/musical, respectively).

Best Director: Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

The best director category again lacked the nomination of a female director. Greta Gerwig deserved a nomination for her masterpiece; Little Women. However, Quentin Tarantino will likely take home the prize for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. He recently took home the Golden Globe.

Best Actress: Saoirse Ronan, Little Woman

I expect Saoirse Ronan to upset Renee Zellweger (Judy) for her performance as Jo in Little Women. Ronan plays a fierce, powerful, and independent version of Jo who was the star of the movie for me.

Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix, Joker

Phoenix has been critically praised as his performance of the Joker and will certainly take home the Oscar. It will be interesting to watch his acceptance speech!

Best Supporting Actress: Laura Dern, Marriage Story

Laura Dern deserves all the awards for her stunning appearance as Nora Fanshaw in the Marriage Story.

Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

Brad Pitt has already taken home the SAG and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Everyone would love to see another Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston appearance. Let’s pray Aniston is invited as a presenter.

Here’s to the 2020 Oscars!
