True life: I live with 10 girls under one roof. Although we each have our own room, rooming with that many chicks has been a living experience like no other. Here are some of the things that change when you add this much estrogen into the mix.
Solving the mystery of disappearing snacks. Buying a box of Cheez-Its and thinking they’re all for you? False. None of the girls will admit it, but we all know that there have been red-handed handfuls taken day by day… Food isn’t safe anymore (passive aggressive hint).
“Is that your hair or my hair?” It’s always tricky identifying whose DNA clogged the shower drain, but in reality, you’re bound to find hair in every crevice of the house. So just take ownership and clean it up or get used to touching stuff that’s not yours.
Parting the seas at Hillside. When you’re this close with this many people, you have to make room for them at the table, no matter where you are. It’s no longer just a high top table for you and your plus one. Ten girls coming into Hillside on a Monday afternoon calls for serious maneuvering. We usually poach at least four tables during mealtimes on campus to make sure everyone can snag a seat.
10x the outfits. Newbury Street getting too far away? Wander down the hall to your roommates’ closets and go nuts. Living with all these girls has given my wardrobe a much-needed “uumph” and has kept my wallet a little less empty.
Built-in best friends and cheerleaders. Whether it’s drafting the perfect text to send to your crush, or helping you stomach that last shot, living with these girls has created an amazing support system. Ten girls can be a lot, but it’s worth it a couple of Cheez-Its here and there.
