1. BUSINESS – Dow Jones Reaches Record High
On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached an all-time high of 14,253.77, beating the previous record set in October of 2007.  If you don’t know, the Dow Jones is usually classified as the United States’ most famous index as it tracks 30 multinational companies’ stock prices.  However, many point out that this doesn’t mean much as the numbers aren’t adjusted for inflation and warn that this shouldn’t lure the country into a false sense of security.

2. WORLD – Hugo Chavez Dies
The controversial leader of Venezuela lost his battle with cancer this past Tuesday. Hugo Chavez has been in power in Venezuela since 1999 and is one of the most notorious names in Latin America.  His death was met with mixed emotions, his followers mourning and his opposition rejoicing.  He was never really a friend to the U.S and his socialist regime was often met with accusations of corruption and hostility.  Nonetheless, Chavez was still revered by many and his passing was marked with demonstrations of grief and respect.

3. MEDICAL – Baby Cured of HIV
Early this week it was confirmed that a baby who was born infected with the AIDS virus has been retested at the age of two-and-a-half, and the disease is no longer present in her blood. Â Doctors believe that this was the result of immediate treatment after she was born. Â Although this is not technically a cure, the baby is no longer being treated for the disease and doctors are left hopeful after seeing this success.

4. ENTERTAINMENT – Jennifer Lawrence to Film Movie in Boston?
It has been rumored that this spring J-Law will be coming to Boston to film David Russell’s newest movie.  Apparently, she is cast as Christian Bale’s wife (lucky her!) and the film is said to have an all-star cast featuring Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Louis C.K.Â

5. LOCAL – BU’s Hockey Coach to Retire
