Over the summer in an effort to escape our apartment with no air conditioning, my roommate and I decided to head over to the new movie theater in Chestnut Hill. We went in expecting your typical movie theater experience, but were totally blown away with all of the awesome extras that this theater provided. The theater itself is filled with amazingly comfy seats that recline all the way back and feel like a bed, and from the moment you enter the theater, the friendly staff is attentive to your food and drink needs. That’s right, drinks; they serve a full cocktail list. Trust me, it’s just as amazing as you think.
From extra comfy seats to delicious food and cocktails served to you throughout the movie, Showcase SuperLux is a must if you are looking for a fun place to go with either friends or even a date. It’s also very conveniently located extremely close to BC in The Street at Chestnut Hill.
While many people seem to be discouraged by the ticket price, $20 for LuxLite and $28 for SuperLux, I definitely think that it’s justified given all of the perks that you receive. Plus, the tickets come with an automatic $5 voucher towards food and drinks, which basically makes the less expensive tickets only $15, just three dollars more than the movie theatre at Fenway. I have only ever tried the LuxLite seats, but for $20 and a great selection of meals and cocktails, I think it is well worth it. And, if you are not interested in the food that they have to offer, the movie theater itself has a Davio’s Cucina inside which serves amazing Italian dinners and desserts. There are also a bunch of restaurants nearby both in the Street and across Route 9 in the newly opened Chestnut Hill Square.
So if you are looking for something different to do this weekend, check out the newly opened Showcase SuperLux Theater for a fun and relaxing experience, complete with wine, snacks, and endless popcorn. Trust me, you won’t be sorry.
