What types of songs are on your top 20 list?
I typically listen to classic/dad rock, soft rock, and more modern rock. You won’t catch me listening to the top 40 unless I’m doing so unwillingly in someone else’s car. I like songs that have a good storyline with distinctive characters like “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beatles. Also, if I can rock out to it (super off-key) in the car, looking at you “When the Curtain Falls”, then I’m all in. Â

How has your music tastes changed over the years?
I grew up being forcibly exposed to old country and old rock. And I thought it was the worst because no one wants to be into their parent’s music at that age, so I went to the opposite end of the spectrum and listened to only pop. I only got into rock during my later high school years, thanks to binge-watching Supernatural. I went through my classic rock phase, then a solid Fleetwood Mac obsession and moved onto the White Stripes. Now I mostly listen to some form of rock exclusively.

Describe the best concert that you’ve ever been to:
While on vacation last summer, I saw Jack White in San Francisco on his Boarding House Reach and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. It was a phone free show in a smaller venue in the center of the city. It was literally so good that I bought tickets to see him again in Nashville during the fall, which was also amazing.
What do you listen to when you drive?
If I’m driving I want to be able to sing along super loudly. I’ve been really into Greta Van Fleet for driving recently because there is no shortage of super loud singing to be had.
What do you like to listen to when you study?
I don’t typically listen to music while I study because it distracts me. When I’m doing homework however, I listen to music that I’m super familiar with because if I already know all the words I don’t really listen to them. The Eagles are oddly good for background homework music.
What was the first concert you remember going to?
I very vividly remember going to a Lynard Skynard concert when I was around 9 years old. More accurately, I remember the people that were sitting in front of us more than the concert itself. They were wild.
What upcoming album/new release/new band has you excited? Â
I’m excited about the Raconteur’s getting back together to work on new music. Also, really looking forward to Hozier’s new album that is coming out soon.
