As we end this school year, here are some wise words from Lorelai Gilmore that will help you finish up your last week and ease into the summer months!
You’re about to leave your college besties for an entire summer, and that is definitely a problem! You don’t know what you’re going to do at 1 am when you can’t sit up and have a girl chat with your roommate. What are you going to do without the movie nights, the Target runs, and Sunday brunch? How are you going to live? On top of that, you have to figure out what you’re going to do this summer. You still have to find a job. You still need to make vacation plans. You still have to go home and unpack all of the belongings you’ve horded throughout the school year. It’s overwhelming, so why not just avoid your problems for as long as possible?Â
It’s hard to be positive as your parents drag you out of your dorm room and remove you from the life you’ve become so accustomed to at college. It’s okay to channel your inner diva as you wave goodbye to a year full of laughs, love, and inevitable stress.Â
Unfortunately OrderUp doesn’t deliver when you live 9 hours away, so make sure you eat all of your favorite local foods before you go home. Make a list, and make sure that there’s nothing left to check off by the time you leave. If you plan accordingly, you can probably knock out 3 or 4 places in one day.Â
Remember that you still have years of college ahead of you. There’s so many more opportunities for you to do silly things with your friends. Next year when you reunite, you’ll have 9 more months of daily shenanigans. You can even start planning now. It’s never too early to buy concert tickets!Â
This year of college has brought you new friends. It has taught you lessons about yourself and about life. It has given you endless opportunities and memories that you will cherish forever. As this year comes to a close, remember to laugh with your friends one last time. Hug your roomie before you leave. Have one last girl chat. Go on one last outing. Have one last jam session. Even though you have the future to look forward to, make sure you make the most of the time you have right now!Â
Lastly, follow this advice y’all! Finals are now over and summer is finally here! Take some time for yourself, get some rest, and have a great summer!Â
