You may have heard one of these songs at a random party or in a commercial but couldn’t quite place who sang it. These artists all represent different types of music but have one thing in common – they’ll be taking over the airwaves in 2012! From hip hop to country, there’s something for everyone. So take a listen. You won’t regret it.
Hoodie Allen is a rapper from New York whose blend of clever rhymes, catchy beats and Celeb name drops make him stand out in the constant flow of new rappers. As a recent UPenn grad, Hoodie has previously toured with The Cataracts, Chiddy Bang and Mike Posner all while working at Google! So he’s smart, talented AND good-looking – the collegiette trifecta. Hoodie will be playing a show in Boston on April 25 at Royale, so pick up some tickets if you like what you hear (I’ve already got mine)!
Listen to: No Interruption, #WhiteGirlProblems, The Chase is On, James Franco

Hunter Hayes, or as I like to call him “Country Music’s J.Biebs”, is just about the cutest thing to come out of Nashville since… well probably since EVER! This 20 year old has been performing and writing his own songs since he was four. Hunter learned a lot from being on tour with both Rascall Flatts and Taylor Swift and has made a huge splash in the country music world.
Listen to: Storm Warning, Wanted, Everybody’s Got Somebody but Me

Oh Land is a Danish singer-songwriter who broke into the US in early 2011. She’s been supported by Perez Hilton for her unique sound and catchy choruses. She is also featured on Gym Class Heroes’ song “Life Goes On” (and is sampled on Hoodie Allen’s “Dreams Up”). Her songs are super successful in Denmark and her break in the US is certain to come soon!

Down With Webster is made up of six Canadian musicians from all different backgrounds. Their sound is a mix of pop, rock and hip hop to bring a new vibe to any music scene. Whether you’re having a get-together, just chilling with friends, or going through a breakup, there’s a Down With Webster song for your occasion. Personally, I like blasting their music while driving around the Bentley loop!

G-Eazy has made a name for himself on the hip hop scene by rapping over classic songs from the 50s and 60s. This smooth James Dean vibe gives a unique edge to his music, which has been blowing up the New Orleans rap scene for a few years. While finishing up college, he toured with the likes of Drake and Shwayze and will be hitting the Van’s Warped Tour this summer!
Listen to: Marilyn (feat. Dominique Lejeune), WASPY, Runaround Sue
