Brooke Jameson & Starr Coughlin: Spring Break Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

This Spring Break, many Bentley students traveled to places all over the world. Two of our very own E-Board members traveled with different groups of people, but with the same destination in mind: Punta Cana! Read on to find out more about their respective trips!

Her Campus Bentley: Who did you travel with for break?

Brooke: 21 people on Bentley’s swim team!

Starr: About 50 of my friends!

What did you do on the plane to pass the time?

Brooke: Played Helix Jump on my phone—be careful, it’s addicting

Starr: Slept mainly hahaha

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

Brooke: We saw five stingrays when we went out on a boat ride!

Starr: The most surprising thing was the amount of people from all over the globe that were staying at our resort. There were tons of Canadians and Europeans.

What was your favorite part of the trip?

Brooke: The boat ride we went on—the tour guides were so friendly and funny.

Starr: My favorite part of the trip was just being able to spend a week with all of my friends—especially since graduation is coming up.

What was the weather like?

Brooke: It was sunny and 80 degrees every day! There were a few scattered showers and patches of overcast clouds, but overall no complaints.

Starr: SUPER SUNNY—way better than this snow. Usually around 80 every day, with the occasional cloud.

Did you make any new friends?

Brooke: I ran into a BUNCH of Bentley people that I had never really spoken to, so those were new friends gained!

Starr: YES—the staff at our resort! The people that worked at the Rui Bambu were amazing and made us feel at home!

Did you spend more time at the pool or at the beach?

Brooke: I spent more time by the pool. There were tons of different pools to explore as part of our extended resort. We also got kicked out of the ocean for a little while because the waves were too big at one point.

Starr: Pool—I love the pool!

What was your favorite meal that you had?

Brooke: I did NOT have a favorite meal because everything I ate was buffet style. The food was the same on our resort as it was when we tried to branch out! It was decent, but nothing to write home about.

Starr: LOL felt like all I ate the entire time was tortilla chips.

Any regrets?

Brooke: My only regret is sunburn now peeling from my arms. I fell asleep in the sun and now the itching is driving me insane.

Starr: NO REGRETS

Would you go again? Why or why not?

Brooke: I would probably not go again just because relaxing Spring Breaks are more ideal for me, rather than big, crazy groups. That being said, I wanted to do something like this once during college (before the Bahamas, of course) and I am SO glad that I got a chance to!

Starr: I would totally go again! Also, like Brooke said, this was much more of a big group trip so there was a ton that went into planning ahead of time. If I wanted a more chill/relaxed break, I probably would do something else—but this was amazing!
