Decorating your Room for Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

It is finally that time of the year! Spring has finally arrived and the beautiful weather has all of us in a great mood. Everyone wants to be outside in this amazing weather, but there are ways to bring that Spring atmosphere into your dorm rooms.

Here are a few tips to brighten up your rooms for the last few months of the semester!

Tip 1: Brighten your room with color

Stay away from those dark colors in the spring time. Change your dark colored sheets and comforters to something a little brighter. Your whole outlook will change by bringing some bright Spring colors into your Bentley dorm rooms.  Another great way to add pops of color to your room is by putting colorful throw pillows on your bed, couches and chairs. This will also add some extra comfort and style to your dorm room.

Tip 2: Bring in the fresh air

The next best thing to do is to open your windows! By keeping your shades and windows open, you will instantly brighten your room while bringing the outside in with a refreshing breeze.

Tip 3: Flowers

Bring flowers into your room. Real or even artificial flowers can really transform your room in the upcoming months. Flowers will help to bring the outdoors inside, boost your mood and add an array of color to any room.

Tip 4: Make a memory wall

Print out pictures of friends, families, or anything that makes you smile, and make a collage on a wall. There are great items on the market that allow you to hang pictures without damaging the walls. Making a collage is easy and a great way to add color and interest to any wall in any room. Grab a roommate or a friend and have fun with it!

Tip 5: Don’t be afraid of change

Change up your space! Spring is a perfect time to rearrange your furniture.  Moving just one piece of furniture can make your room feel more open. This is an excellent way to alter the appearance of your dorm room for Spring and doesn’t cost any money.

By adding your personal touch to any of these decorating tips, your room can really capture the wonderful season of Spring and brighten up the remaining days left of this semester!
