This week, we decided to switch it up again. We just love to keep you guys on your toes! After finally coming back down to reality post-spring break, we couldn’t help but daydream about all of the wonderful meals we consumed. So this week, we enlisted the help of HC Bentley staff to tell us what they are still dreaming about! Whether it was a delectable treat from a fancy restaurant, a festive snack at a vacation spot, or just a nice home cooked meal, we wanted deets!
Our girls traveled all around the country to bring us these fantastic treats, and even provided a little story or suggestion just in case you find yourselves nearby! Here are some of our Spring Break 2013 Foodie-Favorites from the girls @ HC Bentley.
But, listen up ladies— next time you eat food this good, we want samples!
Enjoy! HCXO

I headed home to Tampa, FL for Spring Break, and hit up my all-time-favorite spot, the Dessert Room at Bern’s Steakhouse. (Yes, you read me correctly. they have an entire separate section of the restaurant dedicated solely desserts). Seriously, this place is heaven for those with a sweet tooth like me!
I devoured the trio of liquid center cakes. The mini dark chocolate cakes featured three different warm centers: dulce de leche, praline hazelnut, and white chocolate. The dish also included small scoops of banana caramel, carmélia crunch, and vanilla bean ice creams!

My mom, grandma, and dad shared Bern’s famous dessert – the Macadamia Nut Sundae. It features an orange scented cone filled with homemade macadamia nut ice cream, covered in hot fudge and roasted macadamias. Naturally, I wasn’t too full to steal a couple spoonfuls after inhaling my dessert!Â

I spent most of my break in my home state of New Jersey. I can always count on my Mom to fill me up with lots of delicious meals, especially ones emphasizing red meat which I never get to enjoy at school. My ultimate home-cooked request? Meatballs and spaghetti! My mom makes the meatballs from scratch along with the tomato sauce and they just melt in your mouth. I caught a shot of her efforts after she had just rolled them out.

The first weekend I was home we went out to dinner at this restaurant called Arthur’s in Sparta, NJ. This restaurant has been a family-favorite for years but this was the first time we had dined her under the new management. I ordered the Salmon with sweet potato risotto topped with crispy leeks. It was fantastic and highly recommended!
Â
You may have to just take my word for it but there actually is salmon under there!

Emily Fiorito enjoyed Pan Seared Scallops with veggies and risotto in a cream sauce at Avila Mediterranean restaurant in Boston!
Â
Emily Hamlin chowed down at Cookes of Dublin, a cute Irish themed restaurant at Downtown Disney in Florida. Her meal was the “Battered Burger”, which is a fried hamburger topped with garlic mayo, tomato chutney and mixed greens. It even came complete with traditional “chips”, aka French fries!Â

Katie Jordan couldn’t wait to enjoy some home cooking. Her Grandma made her favorite dish – layered Phyllo dough with melted feta cheese and caramelized onions on top!Â
Â
Sydney Bouchard made us proud by strapping on her apron and heading into the kitchen. She whipped up a traditional Lebanese meal with her family, featuring grape leaves and salmon. Â
Â
We also caught up with our friend Stephanie Hazelton to hear about her food-filled break:
“This spring break I traveled to Florida with 27 other Bentley students to work with Habitat for Humanity. This giant box of Pop Tarts made it all the way through security and onto our flights from Boston to Florida- and provided many smiles and weird glances along the way. I mean, how often do you see someone carrying a box of Pop Tarts onto an airplane? I even shared them with our flight attendants! They made it to Florida and not only were they fuel for the road, but earned me the nickname “Mom” #livefromtheroof“
