Everyone has something they go to when they need a pick-me-up. Food, friends, etc. To me its early 90’s love movies. Personally, I feel there is only one genre of movies worth watching: romance movies. I have watched almost every single one there is. And although at times it makes me expect too much and there is never a boy standing with a boombox outside my bedroom door in the pouring rain, these are my all time favorite ones.
1. Ghost
I don’t really cry in movies, but this one gets me every single time. Starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, in the early 90’s this movie captures the hardships of loss and love all into one. Unchained Melody is the soundtrack to this beautiful movie.
2. My Best Friend’s Wedding
Julia Roberts is my favorite actor, and this movie is absolutely incredible. As she discovers her life-long best friend is getting married she does everything in her power to get him back. This also made me add “The Way You Look Tonight” to my future wedding playlist.
3. The Notebook
This is a classic, and I’ve been watching this movie since I was 8. Released in 2004, this classic romance movie with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams explores a summer everlasting love.
4. Titanic
This movie started my odd obsession with learning everything about the Titanic at the age of 10. I have almost every line in this movie memorized. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet this 1997 love movie, is one to rewatch time and time again
5. When Harry Met Sally
This explores the love between two best friends that appear and reappear in each others lives time and time again only to find out that they were perfect for each other all along. Starring Sally Albright and Billy Crystal, this movie is perfect from start to finish.
