In the month of November I will be turning twenty years old. Insane. I feel like I have waited “to be older” since I was a little preteen, now it’s here and I am slowly shying away from even the thought of having been alive for another decade. So to make this a positive start to my 20s I will sharing a few things I learned during my teenage years.
1. It takes time
In high school, I feel like I was always waiting for the time to pass. A lot of people were eager to just get the hell out of school for a variety of reasons. Some lacked motivation or others were just done with the drama and cliqueness that high school brings. Though, its important to stay strong through those times and persevere because everything will happen in time, so don’t rush everything and live in the moment because you won’t be able to truly relive it ever again.
2. Stay positive
Positivity is something that I value immensely. A positive mindset will not only make you happier but it can literally change you. One day I was tired of hearing people complain all the time and always commenting on the negatives of as situation which upset me and would always put me in a bad mood so I decided to look at the alternative and find the things that can make the situation easier or better. Literally Pura vida.
3. Determination
Setting goals is so important !!! Writing goals down for a day, month, or year can help you stay not only motivated but will provide you a sense of accomplishment. If you put your mind to something always put in the effort to accomplish it. You will be SO proud of yourself.
4. Be nice to yourself
Stop trying to compare yourself to others. Your time is so valuable so wtf are you scrolling through peoples instagrams and trying to look like them, NO. Everyone is unique in their own way; trust me if we were all the same we would all be bored of ourselves. So embrace your differences and make them stand out because we are all special <3
5. Say YES.
Take the risk. What do you have to lose? You have so much freedom to make mistakes in the younger years so why not. LOL…There is a bigger consequence when your older. So why not NOW?
