Past President of Panhellenic Council and recent Bentley graduate,Ā Rikki Lee Larson, gives us her insight on joining Greek Life and how it has impacted her life.Ā

Name: Rikki Lee Larson
Major and Graduation Year: Marketing Major with an LSM in Global Sustainability, graduated December 2011
Hometown: Naples, Florida

HC: How was your experience with Greek Life at Bentley?

RLL: Joining Greek Life was the best decision I made throughout my time at Bentley. Not only did I become close friends with 50 amazing girls, but also got to live with them, go abroad with them, take Spring Break trips with them, and work with them. Being a part of Alpha Phi impacted all of the facets of college for me in a really positive way. It is weird to think how much I would have missed out on without having joined.

HC: How has your experience with Greek Life influenced what you are doing now?

RLL: I’m currently interning full-time at The Boston Consulting Group. One of my sisters who graduated last May also works there and I now get to work with her every day! When I saw the posting for the position on BentleyLink last semester, her positive experience there was one of the reasons I applied.

HC : What was your favorite part about being President of Panhellenic Council?

RLL: My favorite part of being president of Panhel was getting to form relationships with members of the council from different chapters. I also loved having the opportunity to help Greek Life grow and try to show other members of the Bentley community just how many positive things we do on campus and how many opportunities there are in Greek Life.

HC : What advice would you give freshmen going through Formal Recruitment?

RLL: I would say to really go into formal with an open mind and forget all of the preconceptions that you have about chapters and Greek Life in general. There is no right sorority, but there is a right one for each girl going through formal. Take the time to really think about what group of girls you want to spend your college career with!
