This show has to be one of my all-time favorites! If you’re a fan of murder mysteries definitely add this one to your list. Here are five reasons why you should watch Harper’s Island.

1. The Storyline
The story focuses on the members of a wedding party after they travel to Harper’s Island for a destination wedding. The best friend of the groom, Abby Mills, hasn’t set foot on the island since serial killer John Wakefield had murdered her mother and five others years before. Returning to the island, everything seems to be back to normal – until one by one the members of the wedding party start dying. With everyone in the wedding party a suspect it’s a race against time to see who lives, who dies, and who’s the killer. The worst part about the series? It’s only one season!

2. The Guys
Some of the guys on the show are definitely dreamy. There’s Jimmy, the heartthrob who wants to win Abby’s heart, the groom Henry, who would do anything to make the love of his life happy, and Cal, the British outsider whose intent is to win over the affections of his girlfriend. There’s also Sully, the lothario of the lot, and Danny, the voice of reason among the group. There’s someone on the show for everyone and the only problem comes from knowing that your favorite guy may not make it out alive.

3. The Girls
You can never claim that the show lacks strong female roles. Abby not only has to deal with the aftermath of her mother’s murder, but has to face the death that returns to the island when she does. Bride Trish watches as her family and friends are picked off by the killer. Bridesmaid Chloe, who recently found true happiness with the love of her life, threatens to have that taken away as the killer runs loose around the island.

4. The Setting
Filmed in Vancouver, the island itself is like its own character in the show. From the Candlewick Inn, where the wedding party is staying, to the local pub called the Cannery, there are many nooks and crannies for the killer to hide out in. The challenge is figuring out who it is before everyone is dead.

5. The Thrills
The show will constantly keep you on your toes! As the show progresses the suspect pool grows stronger and stronger as the wedding party starts to get smaller and smaller. With at least one person dying every episode, the anticipation truly is a killer.
