Tat’s Treats: Cookie Dough Filled Cupcakes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Welcome back to Tat’s Treats for more fun, unique sweets! This week’s recipe will impress all your friends and it’s easy to make: cookie dough filled cupcakes!

Here’s what you need:

  • A non-stick muffin/cupcake baking tin

  • Cupcake liners

  • Vanilla cake mix and all the necessary ingredients per the box’s instructions (eggs, water, canola oil)

  • Chocolate chip cookie mix and all the necessary ingredients per the box’s instructions

  • A can of your favorite frosting

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place cupcake liners in the baking tin

  2. Prepare the chocolate chip cookie dough according to the box’s instructions and place in the fridge to chill

  3. Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the box’s instructions

  4. Scoop out about a ¼ cup of the vanilla cake mix and place it into each cupcake liner. This should fill the liner about 1/3 of the way and adjust if necessary

  5. Spoon out some of the prepared cookie dough and roll into a 1 inch ball and place the dough in the cake mix in the baking pan for each cupcake

  6. Scoop about another ¼ cup of vanilla cake mix to fully cover the cookie dough (about 2/3 of the cupcake liner)

  7. Place the cupcakes in the oven for about 20 minutes and place a toothpick in the cake portion of the cupcake to make sure the cake is thoroughly cooked.

  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack

  9. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost the cupcakes and decorate them any way you want ☺

  10. Enjoy!
