Welcome back to Tat’s Treats! This week’s recipe is Oreo Truffles. This is an easy, fun snack to make and it can satisfy your craving for Oreos (with a twist!).
Here’s what you need:
- 1 package of Oreos with the cookie and filling part divided or 1 package of pre-crushed Oreos
- 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
- 2 packages of baking chocolate (you can use any kind of baking chocolate, but I personally prefer white)
- 1 baking sheet
Directions:
- Crush about 20 of the Oreo cookies in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or use a food processor/blender if you have one. If you are using pre-crushed Oreos, skip this step. Reserve some of the crumbs for a garnish on top.
- Pour the crumbs into a mixing bowl with the cream cheese.
- Begin to mix the crumbs and the cream cheese until it is thoroughly mixed. A food processor can also be used for this step; simply add the cream cheese to the food processor and mix until well blended.
- Place wax paper on the baking sheet. Roll the cookie mixture into balls, about 1 inch diameter and place on the baking sheet.
- Put the truffles into the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes.
- Melt the baking chocolate in the microwave for 2 minutes, stirring the chocolate in 30 second intervals.
- Dip the truffles into the chocolate and garnish with the leftover crumbs.
- Place the truffles back in the fridge to chill until firm.
- Keep the truffles covered and refrigerated. Enjoy!
