Dressing nicely and appropriately for the fickle weather at Binghamton can often seem like two tasks that are impossible to align. You want to wear that cute pair of jeans and brand new boots you got but what’s the point when the top that brings the whole outfit together is just going to be hidden under an ugly raincoat and a boring umbrella? So you end up deciding that the weather app only says 60% chance of rain, so you’ll be fine. But then it starts to pour, and you aren’t, and you end up looking like more you just stepped out of the shower than off the runway. All you have to do to avoid this is simply incorporate your rain gear into part of your wardrobe, don’t be scared of the rain instead embrace it as another opportunity to go shopping! There are tons of cute umbrellas, raincoats and boots that will keep you dry and fashionable throughout the rainy season at bing (aka all the time). Here are two girls who managed to look both completely adorable and rain chic!
Senior Traci Rubin
Boots: justfab.com, Raincoat: Michael Kors, Headband: Forever 21, Tshirt: Compliments of being a Bing Tour Guide!Â
Traci is killing it with that rain coat. The coat is a gorgeous red that adds sophistication to the rest of her laid back outfit. She was able to make her rainy day ensemble cute and functional simply by utilizing this lovely pop of color. A headband and braid are also great for a rainy day if your hair has a tendency to get frizzy when wet. The headband is so adorbs and fits in perfectly with the rest of her ensemble.
Sophomore Danielle Solovyeva
Boots: TJ Max, Jeans: Century 21, Jacket: Sacks 5h Avenue, Umbrella: Binghamton Bookstore
Danielle looks so trendy. Her outfit isn’t exactly made for the rain but she’s got it covered (literally) with her giant and adorable umbrella. If you don’t want to dress for the weather than a cute but large umbrella will be your new best friend. You dont have to wear it all day but you can just whip it out whenever you are outside. It doesn’t hurt that this umbrella’s dots are so cute and will go with almost any outfit.
