For some of September and most of October, students were getting prepared for the madness that was Hallo-weekend 2015. Now, that Halloween is officially behind us, many students are finding that they’re just trudging along until Thanksgiving break comes along, but come on guys, there is actually so much to still look foward to this semester. Sure, we may be leaving the fun-filled October weekens of apple picking and wine tours behind us until the spring, but in the mean time, finals season (uh, I mean the holidays) are quickly approaching, and there are sure to be multiple ways to pick us all up after the post-Halloween slump.

1. Formal Season
You don’t have to be a member of Greek Life or dating someone in Greek Life to enjoy these open bar parties. If you have a friend that’s involved in Greek Life or any other big club around campus, you may be in luck because formals have become events that are enjoyed by more than just sororities and fraternities. So, find your best dress and heels, unwind, and dance the night away because tis’ the season for formals.
2. Award Show Season
If you’re anything like me then you view one of the biggest perks to the impending cold weather is all the more reason to stay inside on a Sunday night, cuddle up with a warm drink, and enjoy an award show. Sunday November 22nd marks the 43rd annual American Music Awards and definitely gives anyone who loves award shows like I do, the optimisim needed to make it through the next few weeks.
3. Santa Con
If you love Parade Day then you’ll love Santa Con. Similar to Parade Day, Santa Con is a holiday-festive day that involves spending all day partying it up downtown. It’s a great way to unwind from the stress of the semester before finals start since the next time you’ll probably find yourself back downtown after that will be coming back to school after winter break. Dress up in your favorite “ugly” Christmas sweater, and other festive red and green apparel and have fun!Â
4. Holidays
Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years- it’s crazy to think we’re at that point of the year again. As the temperature drops, the sun sets earlier, and the work gets harder, the impending holiday season and the thoughts of eating good food and spending time with family and friends helps make fall’s soon-departure and winter’s soon-arrival much easier to cope with.Â
