Bloomsburg “the only town” in Pennsylvania. If you don’t go here, you’ve probably never really heard of it but everybody loves a small town restaurant with home cooked food and a good drink. Bloomsburg is full of local restaurants that will really give your taste buds a kick.
Marley’s Bar and Grill – If you’re in the mood for a delicious juicy burger – this is the place to be! The feel of the restaurant is low key and a great girl’s night out or date spot for you and your SO. Start off with an appetizer such as the warm crab dip or the pretzels, neither are a disappointment. If you’re feeling on the lighter side, the salads are always a good option. This menu has plenty of options that will appeal to any of your food desires. Definitely a good go-to for a weekend when you need a night with some good fresh cooked food.
Rose Marie’s Italian Restaurant – Everybody loves a good dish of pasta – whether it’s white or red sauce you can never turn your back to that amazing aurora that fills the air. It’s a hidden away little getaway for an intimate dinner for two. The mood is set with the lighting and it gives you an excuse to dress up in a cute casual outfit. It gives you many different options of pastas including seafood, chicken, and other choices that may appeal to your eye. Don’t forget to pair it with a nice glass of wine.
Filet – This is still an up and coming restaurant, but who can say no to a $2 draft special? Happy hour is between 4 and 6 pm. This is a little more upscale dining but still reasonably priced for a college student budget. It will hit the spot for a hearty meal and the menu consists of things you can’t fix up in your kitchen. The patio is also a great go-to on a warm spring day.
Big Chill- Not exactly a restaurant, but you can’t have a hearty meal without some dessert right? This is the perfect way to finish off the night. The laughs didn’t end after the bill was paid, but you walk your way over to Brennan’s Big Chill and you’re in luck, the cow is outside. The flavors are endless and it’s all homemade. Whether you’re looking for a classic flavor or soft serve, it’ll definitely hit your sweet tooth. It’s the icing on top of the cake.
West End Ale Haus – This is more of a bar scene, but it’s full of good bar food for a rumbling tummy. The appetizers are a good portion for two and the soup will really warm you right up. The menu has many options between sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Anything is good and will really hit home with your taste buds. Don’t forget to mix your meal with one of the many drafts that they have on tap. You can never go wrong with a beer and a burger.
There’s so many small town restaurants in town, so don’t head straight for the chain restaurants. Spending money at local businesses helps keep the economy flowing!
