How to Re-Organize Your Life Mid- Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

Mid-smester is basically like going through a midlife crisis– but really. You start to lose all motivation for life and you’re drowning in school work. Midterms have you stressing out to a point that your face is broken out. You’re starting to get irritated with your roommates because all you need is some quiet to study for your big test tomorrow. I get it, we’ve all been there. The best way to keep going is to stick to a routine. It sounds crazy, but it works.

Routine can be boring, but it’s the best way to keep pushing through the semester. Although within this routine you need to include time for relaxing. At night I always make sure I have time to binge watch Netflix for an hour and enjoy a hot cup of tea. It’s the most relaxing way to wind down from a busy day, maybe it’s not for you but whatever makes you happy find time in your day for it. Another thing to keep you going is to maintain time for the gym. Exercising releases endorphins which makes a person happy. This will make you feel good about your appearance as well as maintaining your health. It’s another way to release the stress from the week.

Try to lay off the coffee and the doughnuts, but if you spent your night in the library make sure to reward yourself with a slice of your favorite pizza. Sometimes it can be easy to find motivation if there is a reward at the end. Don’t keep yourself cooped up for too long! Make sure to take Saturdays for nights out with friends, but take your Sunday to settled down with your textbook on the couch. Just remember you still have a few weeks of the semester left so keep pushing through! Dean’s list will be worth it in the long run.
