Spring semester is quickly coming to an end! And after a long winter, we have officially survived Bloomsburg’s brutal temps and #Snowmageddon15. Along with warm weather and longer days come finals and a ton of end-of-semester assignments. It always seems like when the semester starts to wind down, that’s when professors bombard you with a bunch of things to do that pile up out of nowhere! Finals alone are enough to make a girl go completely insane. But have no fear! These tips are a sure way to calm down your nerves and help you get through the semester without having a breakdown!
Just breatheI know it may sound crazy but it helps! When you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out it may feel like you’re drowning. Being a college student on top of so many other things gets rough! But if you just take a second to breathe and clear your mind, you’ll realize that you aren’t drowning and that you’ll be okay. Just take 2 minutes and exhale and inhale.
ExerciseSometimes the best way to relieve stress is through physical activity! Whether it may be a quick workout session at the Rec Center or a game of Frisbee with friends on the quad. Physical activity is a good way to deal with your stress because it’s almost like your literally kicking stress to the curb.
Have a mini dance session! There is nothing like cranking up your speakers and jamming out to your favorite songs! Grab your friends and have a mini dance session in your room, kitchen or living room! Your friends crazy dance movies will definitely have the whole crew cracking up! And what’s better than having a good time with your best gal pals!?
Treat yourself!Sometimes you may stress so hard over finals that you may forget to stop and reward yourself. College is a lot of hard work with all of the assignments and tests you have to prepare for. Go out and treat yourself to Big Chill or Fro Yo! If you really want to go all out, gather a group of friends and go out for half-priced appetizers and Applebee’s!
Just remember that college doesn’t last forever, even though sometimes it may feel like it. Being able to properly manage your stress is very important and something that can help you throughout all stages in life. So just take a deep breath and remember that you’ll do just fine!
