- Go abroad. You have no commitments so travel the world, see the sights, and gain some independence.Â
- Go on a completely unplanned road trip. Be spontaneous before you settle down into life and have to make plans.
- Go social media free for a weekend. Believe it or not, everything you do does not need to be posted to your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. So put the phone down, don’t update any accounts and spend time with the ones you’re with rather than texting others.
- Have a girls-only night with your friends.
- Spend quality time with your family and appreciate them. Someday soon, you will be moving out of your parents house and you will be wishing you would have spent those extra hours at home.
- Forgive and forget. There are probably people in your past who you still don’t get along with so make amends and move on! There is no sense in wasting time on people you can live without.
- Learn something new. Take a class where you can learn something you’ve always wanted to try whether it’s fitness, calligraphy, creative writing, photography, etc.
- Go out and stay out all night! There’s plenty of time to sleep when you’re dead
- Take a day for yourself and get totally pampered. Mani, pedi, hair…Â Do it all!
- Take responsibility. If you have your own house or apartment you will need to get a job to pay the bills, but even if you are living in your parents house the least you can do is offer to pay a bill or two.
- Exercise and eat right. Get the body that you have always wanted –Â no time like the present!Â
- Realize it is okay to fail. Remember the saying if at first you don’t succeed, try try again? Live by it. Don’t give up on something just because it doesn’t work out for you the first time around.
- Learn to get organized. Organize your life, your house, your room. Being organized will make your entire life 100X easier.
- Figure out who your true friends are. It’s better to have 5 true friends than 30 fake ones. Quality not quantity.
- Watch the news. Find out what’s going on in the world around you. Not only will you feel more informed, but you will be able to hold conversations with other adults
- Start saving up. Stop spending money on things you don’t really need and start saving up for the rest of your life.
- Start a blog or keep a journal. Write down everything you are doing, even if it seems insignificant now it will be nice to be able to read your journals later on in life and remember the great things that you did.
- Say yes to something you would normally dismiss, who knows what could happen!Â
- Make a list of goals for your near and far future.
- Figure out who you are. Learn what you like, learn what you dislike, keep the people in your life who you need and who need you and get rid of the ones who don’t, make mistakes and fix things that are broken – don’t be afraid!Â
