Why You Should Join Your School’s Her Campus Chapter

Since our humble beginnings, Her Campus has grown to include chapters in hundreds of colleges and universities around the Country (and now starting to go abroad!) There are so many fantastic reasons we could tell you to to make you want to join, but here are some of the top reasons you should join your school’s chapter of Her Campus!

1. Your New Team – Whether you’re a first semester freshman or a second semester super-senior, Her Campus gives you the opportunity to meet new people and become a part of a really amazing team no matter what Her Campus- affiliated school you attend. It’s really cool to have a bunch of girls around that you can bounce ideas off of whenever you’re having writer’s block or just want a second opinion on something.

2. Your Writing Skills Will Grow Exponentially – Because you will be writing at least two articles per month (membership requirement), you will become a better writer. Also, with the help of our amazing editors, you will be able to see just what you can work to improve on and what you’re already awesome at.

3. Networking – One of the best things about Her Camous is that it is a national organization that allows collegiettes from all over the country to take part in this great group. By attending things like Her Conference you can meet so many other writers and team members that are there for the same reason you are, because of your love for Her Campus!

4. Learning Fabulous Marketing Skills – While a large part of Her Campus does involve writing, there are also marketing aspects that go in to each and every chapter. In order to make the organization as big as we can, different chapters take part in different marketing and publicity events each semester which involves working with companies to promote products.

5. All Work, No Play… JK – Truth be told, you cannot spend all of your time working and having no fun at all. We are in college and need time to just relax and have fun! The great thing about Her Campus is, while we know how to work when work needs done, we also know how to have fun when we deserve it. Things like movie nights, bunches, Chapter parties, and team building exercises make sure that you are rewarded for all of your hard work.

6. Resume Builder – Let’s be honest here: The main thing we are concerned about in college, besides not scheduling a class before 10 am, is building our resumes. Employers are looking for good grades and a great list of extra-curriculars. By putting a nationally recognized organization on your resume you are starting the process of setting yourself aside from the rest of the crowd.

7. Leadership Opportunities – Within each chapter of Her Campus there are different leadership positions such as Chapter Correspondent, Editors, etc., that, depending on your chapter, can run or be elected to. This also goes along with the resume building. Potential employers love leadership experience.
