In Milwaukee, on September 24th 20 year old, Kania Brunson, was murdered. She was killed by two men after she told one of the men’s wives that they were having an affair. The two men involved were Sultan Shareef and Johnny Allen Hopgood. Hopgood is Shareef’s brother-in-law.
Shareef contacted Brunson’s mother, Jennifer Meadows a week before the incident. Meadows stated that Shareef said “I want to be done messing with your daughter, but she’s reaching out to my wife,”. Brunson and Shareef met on the night she died. An unidentified friend of Shareef made a call to the police stating that Shareef was on top of Brunson as she screamed and pleaded for help. Brunson was heard yelling “he cut my throat!”.
Once the police arrived at the scene, neither Brunson nor Shareef was there. Just hours after, the police received another phone call saying that Brunson’s body was found. Once her body was found in an alley, it had several gun wounds and was also set on fire. Investigators of course went onto questioning Mrs. Shareef, Sultan’s wife. She said that her husband was with her on the night of September 24th, but there was video evidence that proved that was a lie.
Shareef was charged with first degree homicide and mutilating a corpse. Hopgood was charged with mutilating a corpse as well as harboring and aiding a felon. Shareef is believed to be in charge of her death, while Hopgood was just used to help dispose of her body. Both are now currently on bond. Sultan Shareef bond is set at $500,000, while Johnny Allen Hopgood’s is set at $50,000.
