What is YOUR definition of self-care and how do you view it?
Hmmm. What’s my definition of self-care is a great question. I would say self-care is defined as; mending to your personal needs for you. Your mental, emotional, and all the way down to your physical needs. Meditating, getting the proper amount of rest at night, eating and drinking healthy. Taking care of your mind, body, and soul results into you living a longer, happier, and healthier life.
How Do I Practice Self-Care?
There are many different things that I consider self-care. Starting with taking some time to yourself to breath, taking a pause from the outside world for a moment. Being in my own little bubble. Just doing things that I love and doing things that make be feel good all around.
Taking a warm bath with therapeutic salts, lathering bubbles, a yummy smelling candle, and some relaxing music. Running errands, a little bit of retail therapy if you wish. Cleaning out my car, running it through a thorough car wash, and some maybe a little interior designing. I clean space/area is very important to me. If it’s cluttered around me, my mind tends to be cluttered as well.
Here are my top 5 ways that I indulge in self love/care:
- I’ll always love a simple hot bath paired with Dr. Teals ‘Cannabis Sativa & Hemp Seed Oil’ Pure Epsom Salt, 5 drops of organic tea tree oil, and 2 cap fulls of apple cider vinegar.
– It restores skin health and pH balance by strengthening the skin barrier.
– It helps in the process of weight loss and promotes enhanced metabolism.
– It helps fight muscle tension.
– It supports the immune system.
- Starting the morning off on a great foot, waking up early, opening the blinds, turning on my therapeutic playlist, making a cup of hot chocolate, cooking a healthy, and cooking tasty breakfast
- Deep cleaning my space. I start a load of laundry while I’m cleaning my room. Change my sheets, disinfect my bed, vacuum, wipe everything down, and reorganize my dressers and shelves.
- Tapping into my spiritual side. Cleansing my energy crystals, recharging them by speaking positively to them, letting them soak energy from the sun, and replacing them in their Zen garden.
- Taking a day to just myself to square and center my mind. Writing out my thoughts, mapping out what I have to do for the upcoming week, make a new playlist, scheduling, and just relaxing and taking it easy.
