With reading becoming one of my newer hobbies that I have fallen back in love with comes a lot of suggestions of books that I should read. BookTok has become a very popular thing within the last couple of months. There have been a lot of books recommended on the app and many books I have not seen recommended on BookTok. I created my 2024 TBR (to be read) on a lot of the books that I have seen on BookTok. Here are 5 books that I have previously read that I think you should add to your TBR.Â

VERITY BY COLLEEN HOOVER
Verity: a romance thriller that has a few heavy topics of death and mourning the loss of a loved one. Verity follows the lives of Jermey and Verity Crawford after a tragic incident that leaves Verity unable to finish a very successful book series. Lowen comes into the Crawford home to finish the series but finds a manuscript never intended for anyone to read and leaves her in an awkward situation. She has to decide what to do with the manuscript and if she is seeing things or if her suspension is true.
This is a book that once you start reading it will be hard to put down. It has a very unexpected outcome that will leave the reader shocked. It is a thriller along with romance and is a book that will make you rethink the truth. Overall I think that this was a 5 star read and it is a book that I would recommend over and over again.Â

Will Pippa be able to find justice for Sal or will she be proven wrong in her own footsteps.Â
This book has an ending that I didn’t expect at all. It was very suspenseful and made me want to read more. It is the first book in a three-book series by Holly Jackson. The next in the series includes Good Girl, Bad Blood and As Good as Dead which are two books on my TBR. Overall I gave this book a 3-star read and I think that it includes unexpected twists and turns a reader wouldn’t expect.

One unexpected Friday night she runs into the captain of the basketball team, Vincent Knight, as she helps him find a poetry recommendation for a class he hates. This book is one of Colleen Hoover’s more popular books. It has a twist that I never expected and was a book that made me want to keep reading. It was a quick read for me and was a book that I have heard a lot of good things about. Most people don’t like what Colleen Hoover writes about and how she writes her book but I have grown to like the way she writes especially in this book. Overall I gave this a 4-star read and I think that it is one of Hoover’s best books.
THE PLAYLIST BY MORGAN ELIZABETH
The Playlist: a romance novel following Zoe and Zander (Zee) as Zoe is Zander’s little sister’s best friend. Zander plans a road trip once he realizes they are both single at the same time. Zander follows Zoe’s love story bucket list she had made when she was little. Can Zander make Zoe fall in love with her along the trip, or will this be another failed attempt?Â
This book has a lot of Taylor Swift references and includes a lot of her songs as the chapter titles. That was one thing that made this book stand out against a lot of other books that I have read. I like the way this book was written and that it showed the reality of having “a midlife crisis” and having the feeling of what am I doing with my life. Overall I gave this book a 3-star read and it is something that I would recommend to any Taylor Swift lover. This book includes sexual material and is intended for 18+.
