Multiverse! Nostalgic Villains! College admissions! Oh My!

The new Spider-Man film, “No Way Home“, is definitely one for the books. Filled with surprises, action and coming-of-age conflicts, this nostalgic but modern movie has fans wanting so much more. Warning, this review does contain spoilers!

“No Way Home” begins with Peter Parker’s real identity not only being revealed to the entire world, but most people now believe he is the murderer of Mysterio. Because of this, Peter, along with his friends MJ and Ned, get rejected to their top-choice college: MIT. To fix this situation, Peter turns to Dr. Strange for help. This goes very wrong when his spell to reverse his revealed identity actually lets villains from other Spider-Man universes come into Peter’s. He then spends the movie trying to help the villains change before they have to go back to their homes to die. Easy, right? WRONG!

Peter, who was only trying to do good in the world, had some backfire when his Aunt May tragically left him and the villains that he had never seen before escaped, all while feeling completely and utterly alone. This all changes when our childhood superheroes enter the screen to help Peter along the way, giving their advice and letting him know that he’s not alone. As the movie theater has a mini heart attack about halfway through the film, we all watched as history was being made on the screen.

Needless to say, I recommend this movie to everyone and anyone. The MCU delivered a film that had extremely high standards from Marvel fans. The MCU added so many little innuendos that were in past Spider-Man iconic scenes like “my back!” that had everyone smiling. I felt like I was back in my living room as a kid with my sisters watching the Toby McGuire movie when he faught a dude with literal mechanical tentacles, and Andrew Garfield who had us sobbing at the end of the second movie (you know what I mean).

The movie theater environment was like no other. I was surrounded by my fellow MCU fans who gasped, cried, laughed and sat in awe the day the movie came out. I cannot wait for Marvel to continue creating films that never cease to amaze me with their many iconic characters joining forces in new ways and fighting new battles. Does Peter win his battle? Does he make it to college? How does his life change when everyone finds out who he is? Is Andrew Garfield still very attractive? If you don’t know and want to find out, then watch this film ASAP! It will not disappoint you.
