Valentine’s Day is such a loving holiday. It’s a day where you can share your love with friends, family and your partner. Most people spend it with their significant other. Buying teddy bears, chocolate, flowers, and so many more things to show their appreciation and love.

But, what if you don’t have that person? What if it’s just you? Everyone wants to feel loved and cared about. So if you don’t have a valentine, you should still be able to experience valentines day. Here are a few tips I use to make sure I feel loved.

It is really important to show yourself love, especially on a day like Valentine’s Day. Personally, I show myself love by pampering myself — and I’m not talking about a regular face routine. I am talking about a really in depth type of care. I do face masks, lip masks and even foot masks. While I have all these masks on I read a good book or a book that makes me feel calm and relaxed. I make sure I have on my cutest Pjs and just try to make myself feel as stress-free as possible.

Another way I like to show appreciation and love to myself is through buying myself things. As a college student, I try to save my money a lot of the time but on days like Valentine’s Day, I probably spend the most because I spoil myself like crazy. I buy my favorite foods, drinks, and even accessories. I like to buy my favorite drink from Starbucks (a mocha cookie crumble frappuccino with extra mocha drizzle and caramel Drizzle) in the largest size they have. I even buy myself my favorite sunflowers. Having sunflowers always reminds me to love myself and be happy.

I also try to hang out with friends because sometimes I still feel a little lonely. But, if we are being honest it not bad spending valentine’s day by yourself. It just depends on the way you choice to spend it that will make a bad or good valentines.

I hope telling you the ways I spend my Valentine’s Day will help you try to figure out what you can do for yourself on Valentine’s Day. And help you love yourself even more to point where you don’t need a valentine’s.
