As I’m sure you’re already aware, the 2024 Election is less than two weeks away. It is an incredibly close, and incredibly important race. For a lot of college students, it will be their first time voting. Do not let that go to waste. Go out and vote this November 5th, or make sure to send in a mail in ballot (aka an absentee ballot).

It easy to feel discouraged. I know I am. I sit by and watch as my youth is overshadowed by the rise of fascism (and yes, I can say fascism). But we cannot lose hope. Whichever way the national election goes, local elections are incredibly important and impactful. Voting for your school board can be the difference between trans kids getting to say their true names in classrooms or not. Voting for different amendments can be the difference between abortion being legalized in the state or harshly punished. So please, research your ballot and get out there and vote. And remember, voting is just the first step. Protesting, canvassing, even running for office yourself are all important for the future.
