So Alyssa, you are pretty involved on Campus–could you tell me a little more about your involvement with Chabad?

Right now I’m sitting on the board of Chabad. We plan tons of events, two of our biggest are Hookah in the Sukkah and the Purim party which are both co-sponsored by Greek-life. Currently I am planning a 5K race for Fall Fest 2013.

What about your involvement with the music/theater department? How did you get involved with that?

I work at a Performing Arts Camp in the summers and when I got to Brandeis I became involved in the Undergraduate Theater Collective and the Brandeis Theater Company as a Sound Designer.

I also hear you are rushing SDT this semester. How has that been for you, and what decided to make you do that as a second semester sophomore?

I decided to join this semester because of the support I felt from my friends who are already in the Sorority. We were just initiated, which is exciting.

Are you going abroad next year? If, so where? If not, why?

I’m not going abroad next semester because I already had the chance to study abroad in high school. I can’t complain about it though because I’m living with three other HC Celebs: Mara Flack, Anna Bessendorf, and Aliza Ganz.

What’s your favorite thing about Brandeis?

I love when the weather finally gets warm and I can spend all day on the Great Lawn with my friends.

What’s your least favorite thing about Brandeis?

Milk days at Sherman aren’t my favorite…

How do you suggest that other collegiates become more involved on campus?

I think it’s really important to join a diverse group of clubs and be open to new people and new experiences.

What are your plans for the summer/what are you most excited for?

This summer I’m returning to the Performing Arts Camp, this will be my second summer as a counselor and I’m excited to see my campers.

Andrea is a sociology major with minors in journalism and women's and gender studies. She is currently finishing her senior year at Brandeis University. She was born and reared in Los Angeles, CA, which does mean that she is a die-hard Laker fan… Sorry Bostonians. When Andrea is not routing on her favorite basketball team, she dedicates her time to her many passions. They include reading and writing about fashion, traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, watching reality television (she has a weak spot for Bravo), shopping, and working out.
